Introduction to Dyeing

Learn the basic technique to get you started on the creative outlet of dyeing your own fabrics.  In this class, Helene will teach you the art of dyeing for natural fibers using Procion MX dyes.  By using the primary colours of red, blue and yellow, you will take home a series of colour swatches to use in your future projects.  Remember how much fun it was when you used to mix colours in finger painting classes? Tsukinelo Inks for Beginners

Learn to use this amazing product with fabric artist Kim Boyd.  She will start you off with choosing the appropriate fabrics, and then show you how to design and create a pattern from a photo.  From there, you will be shown basic ink painting techniques using Fantastix pens to apply, blend and shade the inks.  You will create your own beautiful sample piece.  Kim will then make suggestions on how to complete a whole cloth art quilt. Tsukineko Inks - Intermediate
