This series of classes are designed to teach the basic sewing skills necessary to construct simple clothing items, such as pants, skirts and dresses. For each class you will be required to purchase a kit in which all supplies needed to construct sewing samples is included, along with written instructions. These samples can then be kept as reference when sewing at home. Donna Ringham. One 3-hour session ea. $26 + $15 Kit Fee payable to Instructor for each session.
You will learn how to sew the following: Seams – straight, curved, eased, french, flat-felled, taped, etc. Seam Finishes – pinked, zig-zagged, top-stitched, under-stitched, etc. Hemlines – straight, curved, blind-stitched, rolled, etc. In this class we will learn to use both machine and hand stitches depending on the technique.
